Occupational therapy aims to reduce deficiencies and their consequences (disability) in order to help people maintain or even improve their level of independence in everyday activities: basic, domestic, leisure and professional.
Occupational therapy helps people with restricted physical ability. The wide variety of services provided include:

- learning to perform basic activities independently
- assessment and functional rehabilitation of upper limb motor skills
- assessment and rehabilitation for sensory and painful disorders
