Orthopaedic and osteoarticulary rehabilitation concerns patients suffering from either degenerative bone or joint diseases. It also applies to the after-effects of fractures with or without the insertion of prosthetic material. The disease of the locomotor system generally occurs after an acute illness, an accident or scheduled surgery.

Dr. Trad, a specialist doctor in rehabilitation, works in a privileged partnership with orthopaedic surgeons and rheumatologists. The multidisciplinary rehabilitation team at Clinique Valmont, comprising of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, sports masters, speech therapists, neuropsychologists, dieticians and specialist nurses, complete the medical team. Their personalised services are designed to make the patient more autonomous and independent and to give him or her the means to adapt to their disability in the best possible conditions.

The main diseases treated by rehabilitation are:

  • prosthetic surgery (hip, knee and shoulder)
  • traumatic surgery (hip, pelvis, ankle fracture)
  • persons with multiple traumas

As concerns the vertebral column:

  • the postoperative after-effects of a prolapsed invertebral disc
  • the postoperative after-effects of a lumbar arthrodosis
  • the postoperative after-effects of the lumbar vertebral canal
  • non-operative problems such as chronic lumbago

The other treated medical pathologies are:

  • inflammatory rheumatism (polyarthritis rheumatoid or fibromyalgia).

Patients can either be hospitalised or benefit from ambulatory care. They are being evaluated and trained in their different daily activities (washing and getting dressed, cooking,...) and benefit from a rehabilitation of motricity (strength, mobility, dexterity, sensitivity troubles). The patients is also counselled in postural hygiene (back pain, PTH, inflammatory rheumatism).

Activities are personnalised and combine individual and group sessions.
