Alzheimer's disease is a neurodegenerative disease that results in the progressive and irreversible loss of mental functions, particularly memory. Symptoms are: memory loss, difficulty performing tasks in daily life, mood and behavioural problems, mislaying objects.

Diagnosis of the disease is based essentially on neurological and neuropsychological tests, which also detect other forms of mental function or memory disease besides Alzheimer's.

The Alzheimer Test takes place over half a day, starting with a consultation with Professor Julien Bogousslavsky, neurologist and head of the neurological rehabilitation department, followed by a series of tests performed by our specialised neuropsychologists to review memory capacities as well as cognitive and behavioural functions.

A summary is prepared after the tests, and any additional examinations (brain imaging, biological analysis, etc.) are considered if they should prove necessary. A treatment and support plan is then drawn up with the patient and their carers, as appropriate.
